.....GOING HOME.....

I woke up early and packed all my things because we had to be out of the resort by 10:00am and our flight was going to leave at 12:15pm. I packed all my things into my suitcase and crammed all the things I had bought into another one with everyone else’s stuff, then before we left I had breakfast then mum checked out at 9:00am which gave us time to visit the beach one last time.
This time I took heaps of photos before climbing back into the car so we could go to the markets near the airport. The markets were fruit and vegie only so we bought some and pigged out on them before we went into the airport. We got some rambutan and mangoes which were delicious.
Then we took back the hire car and checked in before getting back on the plane to Australia.

...DAY 13...

Today we went to Sangeh Monkey Forest, and this along with Bali Barat National Park were my favourite places we had visited on our trip. I woke up early so we could get there early and I also took as little as possible because I have heard that the monkeys steal your stuff so incase that happened I left my sunglasses and hat at home then when we were all ready we set off. It took 45 minutes to get to Sangeh Monkey Forest.
When we got there we walked around holding all of our belongings tightly. There were heaps of monkeys but to my surprise they weren’t all in the trees like I had assumed they would be they were on the ground and on people. When we were walking back one of the bigger monkeys came and sat on my dad’s head and then ran off with his hat, we tried to get it back but the monkey wouldn’t had it over and whenever we got closer it moved further away so we left it with the monkey, I took heaps of photos of the monkeys and the whole place. We left at 3:00 pm and we arrived at 10:00 am so we spent a good 5 hours there and now we were all really tired after walking around the enormous monkey forest. It was a great day but Dad didn’t think so.

...DAY 12...

Today we went to Jatiluwih, which is a massive rice field. It took us 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there. It was massive and spread very far.

We left at 11:00am and arrived just after 12 but the trip home took longer, we left at 2:00pm and arrived back home at 4:00pm. At Jatiluwih we walked around and through the rice fields. It was cooler today than yesterday but the sun was still shining, we walked around it for 2 hours before we left it was really interesting to see how rice is grown and harvested, we also got to take some rice home.
On the way home we stopped at a warung where we bought some cakes and snacks for afternoon tea. The little cakes were delicious so I had a second one but then I was extremely full and couldn’t eat much dinner. When we got home I watched another movie before mum cooked us the rice we brought home for dinner, It was really delicious even though I couldn’t eat much of it.

...DAY 11...

Today we went to the markets and the shops in Bali. We left early hoping to get lots of stuff before it got too hot. We left at 7:30am and caught a becak to the markets.
When we got there we searched through all every stall we found some more clothes, jewellery and bags. We got heaps this time around, heaps more than the first time and also it was cooler today so mum and I had heaps of fun shopping. Dad decided he didn’t want to come but he would prefer to go to the beach instead so he did. We also brought more DVDs and cds, little presents like key rings and stuff, accessories, I got my hair braided and my nails painted and so did mum.
After we had seen everything at the market we caught another becak to the fruit and veg one that was near our resort. We bought some more fruits before heading back home.

...DAY 10...

I woke up ready to go out. The Bali Barat National Park and the Sangeh Monkey forest were the two places I really wanted to visit and luckily today we were going to Bali Barat National Park. We had to leave early so we could look all around it. It would take us two and a half hours to get there and then two and a half hours back. The car trip was long, hot and boring but the car trip was worth it when we arrived at the Bali Borat National Park.
It was too big to fully travel around in one day but we tried to see as much of it in the time we had. We saw heaps of animals, birds and nature it was very beautiful and it was a sunny day which added to my fun. We took heaps of photos and had lots of fun trying to find the animals. We let the national park at around 4pm and we stopped for some dinner on the way home. When we got home the guards checked under our car for bombs with this big pole with a mirror attached at the end of it. When they had finished checking our car we drove inside then before I went to sleep we played a few rounds of cards then I went to bed.

...DAY 9...

I woke up knowing already knowing where we were going and I wasn’t looking forward to it but my parents were so once again I pretended I was excited as well.
We took a minibus or bemo to reach where we were going It took us an hour and 20 minutes to reach it. When we got to Besakih we had a look around, there were heaps of stairs leading up to it and it was a massive struggle but It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be but it was still pretty bad because my skin was still very badly burnt. It was a normal boring temple nothing fancy but my parents really enjoyed themselves sand that’s why we went here.
We left two and a half hours after we arrived and then got home at 2:30pm since it was still extremely hot mum put some sunscreen on and Then we all hoped in the pool for the rest of the day.

...DAY 8...

I woke up with the sun. It was already hot and it was only 6:00am. I got up and turned on the TV to see what the weather was going to be today I couldn’t read or make out the Indonesian words but I did see lots of sun popping up which indicated it was going to be hot. I go into a singlet and shorts then I went and sat on the chairs outside by the pool. When my mum woke up we both went in the pool then had breakfast soon after my Dad woke up. I asked him where we were going today but he didn’t know so I suggested we went to the beach again or just stay at home, since it was going to be hot. Mum agreed it would be a good idea and so that’s what we did. An hour after we ate, we all headed down to the beach.
It was packed like usual. Some surfing, some tanning but most actually in the water. I ran to the sand and put my stuff down before charging into the water. We body surfed on the waves, splashed in the water and made sandcastles. It was a fun day but I got extremely burnt, so instead of walking back home we caught a becak and stopped at a McDonalds for dinner on the way home. When we did get back we played cards and had fun before we all went to bed.

...DAY 7...

I woke up and I just lied in my bed for a few minutes before falling back to sleep for another hour. Mum woke me up with vegemite toast in her hand. I didn’t feel like any Indonesian food this morning so I took the toast and ate it all quickly. Dad said we were going to Goa Lawah,
but I didn’t know what or where Goa Lawah was. Dad told me it would take 45 minutes to get there and he also told us we were getting a tour there at 12pm but we also had to get there 15 minutes before the tour started. So I got dresses quickly for where we were going and then left in our hire car at 11:00am when we were about 5 minutes away my parents told me we were going to a Bat Cave Temple. I wasn’t as excited as the other placed we had visited but I knew my parents were excited. When we got there mum filled out our forms and then we had to wait for the tour to begin. The tour went for an hour and a half and it was very boring, there were caves and lots of bats but they hardly moved because they are nocturnal, There were a lot of Indonesian people but also a lot of tourists visiting There were lots of structures and lots of temples that the Indonesian people were praying and giving offerings to. On the way home I fell asleep and woke up in my bed I looked at the clock and it read 10:00pm I could hear the TV I walked out of my room and saw my mum and dad sitting on the couch watching a movie they gave me something to eat sent me back off to bed.

...DAY 6...

I woke up early and walked into the kitchen where the maid put down some meals I couldn’t recognise the meal but when I chose the best looking  one on the tray and ate it I could taste peanuts and many different spices all combined in a sauce that was spread over some chicken and rice. It was delicious. After I had finished I looked through the brochures and saw one for Padangbai
(which is a small fishing village that is located 53.1 km away from our resort.) Once Mum and dad had finished their breakfast and we were all ready, we left. It took 2 hours to get there but it was a great day out, there were heaps of fishing boats, local shops and houses all over the village. We had a look around and visited some of the locals who told us some stories about their fishing trips. Before we left we stopped at one of the restaurants and got some lunch it was delicious and fish was in every single meal.  WE left around 3:00pm we arrived home at 5:00 and I wasn’t hungry since we hadn’t eaten long ago but mum forced me to eat so I just ordered a small bowl of nasi Putih but I still didn’t eat it all then I said goodnight and went straight to sleep.

...DAY 5...

I got out of bed late around 10:00 am and realised mum and dad were still asleep. So I grabbed out my book that i had brought and sat reading for half an hour until i got really hungry. I called room service and ordered a bowl of nasi putih and a pineapple juice. The maids brought the meal down and i used the rupiah that was still in my pocket from yesterday to pay her. I then searched around my bag and found the movies i had bought at the market the other day. I put one in and watched it until my parents woke up a little while after i had finished my breakfast. We all decided we would stay at home today and check out Kuta beach instead. After the movie had finished and we had all had breackfast/lunch we walked to Kuta beach.
When we got there I put on loads of sunscreen and ran into the water followed by my  mum and dad. The water was freezing but i soon got used to it. After we had all gone in the water we hoped out and I made sandcastles and sunbaked, before going into the water again. Then we walked home and played games until dinner for dinner i had nasi goreng. It wasn't very nice and i preffered noodels than rice. We watched a movie I had bought then i went to bed.

...DAY 4...

I woke up later this morning and ran to where mum and dad were, discussing where we were going to go today. I really wanted to go to Air Terjun which is apparently a massive waterfall with a swimable pool underneath but it was too far away for 1a one day trip so I looked through the brochures and saw Elephant Safari Park.
I really wanted to see elephants because i had only ever seen them from a distance at a zoo. So mum looked on the computer to see whether there were any tours or bus services there. There weren't any so we decided to take a taxi. The ride would take about 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach the Elephant Safari Park. When we got there I was amazed at all the elephants that were there. I knew there was going to be a couple but not this many. We had a look through the hotel and into the pool area where there were even more surrounding the outdoor pool area.
I wanted to stay and watch them for ages but mum and dad hurried me along to the office where the next tour started. We all walked in and booked our spots in the tour. I still didn't know what kind of tour it was but i knew it was going to be great. 10 minutes after heaps of elephants came down the road and they all had little wooden chairs on them. I counted each person that was out side then i counted the number of elephants it was the same number, which meant we were going to ride them. I was so exited. The tour guides helped us onto the elephants and lead the way around. It was one of the best experiences of my life. We had a look around the rest of the park before calling a taxi and heading home. I slept well that night.

...DAY 3...

Last night i went to bed about 6:00pm right after dinner and then this morning i woke up about 7:00am Mum was already awake, she was sitting at the table studying some brochures. I walked over and saw the words Mount Batur on it which i guessed was the biggest mountain or something but turns out it was a volcano.
Mum said we were going to it today. To reach the volcano before the tour starts we needed to catch the travel bus that we would catch across the street. After dad woke up we had breakfast and got ready stopping at a food vendor to get some snacks we could take with us. Then we caught the travel bus at the bus stop across the road. The bus was new and clean, had curtains and was air conditioned. It was 9:15 am when we got on the bus and the ride would take about 1 and a half hours to reach the mountain.
I had a little sleep on the bus while we were driving the bus wasn't full but it wasn't empty there were about half of the seats filled with mostly Caucasian people who spoke English like us. Most of the people stayed on the bus until we reached Mount Batur and then we all climbed out looking at the massive volcano that stood in front of us. There was a massive lake surrounding the mountain and there were more people here lots of Balinese people and also Tourists. We looked for the tour guide but he didn't show for the entire day so we sat around and watched the mountain and saw lots of people offering to it. Others were venturing up the mountain by themselves but we decided if the guide didn't show than we wouldn't climb. We waited at the mountain for 4 hours and the guide didnt show at all so we caught the next bus home we climbed in.  The clock in the bus read 2:30pm which meant we would get home about 4. I slept for most of the ride and when we got home I jumped in the pool while mum ordered our food because we only had cakes and other small foods for lunch and now we were starving. That night we all ate coconut chicken curry and it was delicious.
After dinner I watched some Indonesian tv and we all played cards for the rest of the night.

...DAY 2...

When I woke up I saw that it was no longer dark outside. A lady stood in the kitchen where the table was, she held a tray in her hands and when she saw I was awake she said Selamut Pagi and placed the tray on the table. The tray had 3 bowls of rice and 3 cups of coffee next to them.
I walked over and ate the rice it also had some other things next to it which I decided to try it tasted really yum so I ate all of it. I then tasted the coffee and nearly spat it out it was so strong and sweet I couldn’t drink it. My mum and Dad walked into the room just after I had finished and ate theirs. I turned on the tv and a ad for a market came on. I asked mum if we could go and her and dad both agreed. I went and got changed then I grabbed my purse where I stuffed my money into.

I grabbed one of the bottles of water that was lying on my bed I grabbed my toothbrush and used that water to clean my teeth. After I had brushed my teeth I looked at the clock that said 7:30 am. I ran to the door and waited for my parents to hurry up when my parents were finally ready we walked out of our new home and across the road to the bus stop. The bus timetable said it was another hour until the next bus so we walked down the road a bit and saw a  becak we walked over and my dad told the driver where we wanted to go. My dad haggled with the driver on a price for a while and then the little Indonedian man nodded, we got in he drove us down lots of different streets before finally stopping at the market where I saw lots of food, toys, wood objects and crafty items.

I got out and ran to the first stall where my mum met me I said good morning to the owners and then followed my mum to the other stalls. The first couple were food and we bought a couple rambutan, salak and durian which were apparently really nice but the durian smelled like rotten eggs.

Most after we had saw most of the stalls we headed back to where we bought the dresses and paid for my jacket. We then headed back to where we caught the becak and waited in the heat. About 5 minutes later of waiting for some mode of transportation a yellow car came around the corner it had Taksi on the side and my dad called out for it. The taksi pulled up and we got in making sure there was a meter inside it first. Then dad told the man where we wanted to go in fluent Indonesian and then he drove off.

We continued walking through the market and found a clothing stall I bought some really pretty dresses and a custom made leather jacket. We had to come back for the jacket and so we kept walking. We passed a dvd stall and I bought heaps some of the movies I bought weren’t even out yet and since they were only about a dollar each I grabbed heaps.

We got home at 10:30 pm and it was so hot and humid. I got out of my runners, shorts and t-shirt and changed into my bathers I then went into the pool and stayed until lunch time when I got out to have some lunch the same Indonesian lady brought us in some resort menus she passed them around and waited for our orders. I asked for mie goreng which is fried noodles and pineapple juice and my mum and dad ordered rending which is a spicy beef dish with a coconut juice and a tea. After half an hour the lady brought our meals in, my mie goreng was delicious it was noodles with breadcrumbs sprinkled on it and some other vegetables and spices were mixed in as well. After I ate I went back outside and sat in the pool for the rest of the day.

.....ARRIVAL......

We arrived in Bali at 1:00 at Denpasar airport. We grabbed our hand luggage and hopped off the aeroplane. We arrived at gate 6 and headed for Immigration and security. Once we were off the aeroplane we saw a little Indonesian man standing with a sign saying Hutton. My mum, dad and I walked over to him he led us through the airport and out to where a minibus was parked it had blue and red stripes on it. The man gestured to it and said Bis Periwisata.

My Dad had been to Bali lots of times before so he knew heaps of the language so he could communicate enough to the driver to tell him directions to our hotel. Mum and I just sat and waited until dad came and sat back with us. The driver headed off down Jalan Airport Ngurah Rai until he turned left at Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai and then we took the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto Jalan Sunset Rd, we then made a left at Jalan Nakula, then we turned right at Jalan Raya Seminyak which is where Kuta lagoon and Villas resort was located.

We said goodbye to the driver and dad gave him some rupiah for driving us. After he helped us get our stuff off the bus, he drove away. We checked in and headed to our room. Our room was located on the ground floor and had pool access. It was called a lagoon suite. It was gorgeous it had lots of features inside including a king sized bedroom, a kitchen with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, a living and dining room with a sofa bed, Hi-fi audio with large LCD and DVD player. The bathroom was equipped with a spacious Jacuzzi. We walked around and checked out what was going to be our new home for the next 14 days. After having a look around i put my suitcase in my room and headed out to the living room where the tv and dvd player were. I turned on the tv and saw lots of ads for sales and markets. I really wanted to go to the markets and see everything Bali had to offer but it was 3 ‘o’ clock in the morning. So I lied on the couch and slept for the rest of the night and day.
